PROGRAM Haydn Sonata Hob.XVI: 31 in E flat major 1 Moderato 2 Allegretto 3 Presto Debussy Images I 1 Reflets dans l’Eau 2 Hommage a Rameau 3 Mouvement Brahms Variations on a Theme by Paganini, Op. 35 Bk I Intermission Chopin 24 Preludes Op. 28 Hyun-Jung Oh has given numerous solo and chamber recitals throughout the United States, Korea and Japan receiving reviews of “poetic, thoughtful performance with impressive technique”. She made a debut at Carnegie Hall in New York and was invited as a guest artist in Eastman Summer Concert Series in Rochester and Donnell Library Concert Series in New York. She has appeared with numerous orchestras in Korea including Busan Philharmonic Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Jeju Philharmonic Orchestra, Ulsan Philharmonic Orchestra and Dae-Jeon Philharmonic Orchestra. Hyun-Jung gave a solo recital in Academie Internationale du Moulin D’Ande of France as a result of receiving the first prize at the piano competition. She has attended numerous other summer festivals in various countries to seek more opportunities to learn from different teachers and to perform in their masterclasses including Leon Fleisher, Marc Durand, Sergei Babayan, Joseph Kalichstein, Bruno Rigutto, Kemal Gekic and Dominique Merlet. Last year, she received a doctoral degree at Eastman School of Music where she also graduated with a master’s degree and the performer’s certificate, and worked as a teaching assistant in the piano department. Her undergraduate degree is from the Peabody Conservatory of Music and her teachers include Natalya Antonova, Julian Martin, Yong-Hi Moon and Soo-Jung Shin.
